The French Research Center in Jerusalem is pleased to announce that the 2024 Call for Proposals of the French Embassy’s “Chateaubriand” Research Fellowships for PhD students and young researchers, is being launched on September 18 and will be open until November 18, 2023. Israeli PhD students and young researchers willing to pursue their research in France may qualify for the French Government Chateaubriand fellowships program. Research will be conducted in a French university or a French public research center. These fellowships are available for a period of 4 to 6 months during 2024, with a monthly stipend of 1,704 to 2,055 Euros.

Eligible fields of research are: Exact Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities (medical and specialization internships in French hospitals and clinics are not included in this program). Before applying, candidates must contact the French host institution to get a formal and detailed invitation letter. Read the full call here.

  1. Friday, September 22, 2023 from 10 am to noon at the French Institute in Tel-Aviv.
  2. Friday, October 20, 2023 from 10 am to noon at the French Research Center in Jerusalem, 3 Shimshon street – Jerusalem.
  3. Monday, October 23, 2023 at noon at BGU – Oren Hall (Building 26).
