En examinant sa participation au fa\u00e7onnement du champ pr\u00e9historique au cours des premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es formatrices de l\u2019\u00c9tat d\u2019Isra\u00ebl, nous pr\u00e9sentons les institutions et r\u00e9seaux isra\u00e9liens sur lesquels il s\u2019appuie. Ceux\u2013ci nous conduisent ensuite \u00e0 remonter le temps de la pr\u00e9sence pr\u00e9historienne fran\u00e7aise en Palestine et \u00e0 son d\u00e9veloppement lors de la p\u00e9riode mandataire. Cette approche contextualis\u00e9e, nous permet enfin d\u2019aborder la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019une nouvelle structure de recherche fran\u00e7aise d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 la pr\u00e9histoire \u00e0 J\u00e9rusalem, l\u2019actuel Centre de Recherche Fran\u00e7ais \u00e0 J\u00e9rusalem et de pr\u00e9senter les r\u00e9flexions qu\u2019elle suscite.<\/div>\n<div>Abstract :<\/div>\n<div><b>A History of French\u2013Israeli Prehistoric Connections: Jean Perrot and the Origins of the French Research Center in Jerusalem<\/b><\/div>\n<div>This article begins when Jean Perrot (1920\u20132012), a young French archaeologist, arrives in British Mandate Palestine, at the end of the Second World War. Retracing his career and presenting the Israeli institutions and networks he relied on allows us to measure his role in the shaping of the field of prehistory during the formative years of the State of Israel. This takes us back in time, to the origins of the French prehistoric\u2013presence in Palestine in the 19th century and its evolution during the British Mandate times.
