Huit s\u00e9ances se d\u00e9rouleront entre octobre 2021 et mai 2022, \u00e0 raison d\u2019une par mois, autour du th\u00e8me\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0Transmissions \u00e9pigraphiques\u00a0\u00bb.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"\">\u00ab Transmettre un message au public le plus large \u00bb telle est une des fonctions de l\u2019inscription. Mais en quoi consiste cette transmission ? Sur quoi porte-t-elle et qu\u2019implique-t-elle ? Parler de \u00ab transmissions \u00e9pigraphiques \u00bb permet d\u2019interroger l\u2019id\u00e9e non de permanence qui efface le rapport au temps, mais de continuit\u00e9 qui int\u00e8gre les remous de l\u2019histoire, les variations d\u2019interpr\u00e9tations, les transformations du support. L\u2019emploi continu de formes d\u2019\u00e9criture comme la capitale (entendu au sens de grande lettre plac\u00e9e dans un syst\u00e8me bilin\u00e9aire), la r\u00e9currence de certaines formules fun\u00e9raires qui traversent le Moyen \u00c2ge et se trouvent toujours utilis\u00e9es dans nos langues modernes, ou encore le remploi mat\u00e9riel intentionnel d\u2019une pierre inscrite dans un mur, sont trois exemples les plus \u00e9vidents de la dur\u00e9e v\u00e9hicul\u00e9e par l\u2019inscription. Cette continuit\u00e9 se fait \u00e0 travers la passation ; elle s\u2019inscrit dans une cha\u00eene temporelle et\/ou spatiale. Elle implique un mouvement, comme le montrent la cartographie des formules \u00e9pigraphiques en Europe ou les transferts entre Orient et Occident. Elle met aussi en en avant les interm\u00e9diaires qui participent \u00e0 ce maillage, voire cet engrenage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"\">Au-del\u00e0 du contenu et de la forme d\u2019un message, le texte \u00e9pigraphique est aussi une\u00a0trajectoire, un itin\u00e9raire dans le temps, celui de l\u2019histoire de sa transmission sur d\u2019autres m\u00e9dia que son propre support. D\u00e8s le Moyen \u00c2ge, les inscriptions sont recopi\u00e9es dans les manuscrits\u00a0; aux XVI-XVIIe si\u00e8cles, les imprimeurs vont redoubler d\u2019originalit\u00e9 pour reproduire fid\u00e8lement et faire voir ces textes monumentaux\u00a0; les dessins, les estampages, les premi\u00e8res photographies au milieu du XIXe s. jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la photogramm\u00e9trie aujourd\u2019hui font partie de ce travail de transmission.
